Acidophilus by Nature's Sunshine is a product designed to promote the health of the intestinal tract. L. Acidophilus is a microorganism which promotes digestive and intestinal health. It is available in a dairy-free form because many people are lactose intolerant and/or do not consume animal products. The dairy-free form of acidophilus is cultured in a base of carrot juice and contains no soy, wheat or dairy whatsoever.

You may have heard about the benefits of eating yogurt because it contains friendly bacteria. Acidophilus is one type of this bacteria. This product is enteric coated which means its contents will be released in the intestines rather than the stomach. Because Nature's Sunshine Acidophilus contains live bacteria (approximately 200 million organisms) it should be kept in a refrigerator or freezer.
