HY-C is a Nature's Sunshine product designed to offer support to the glandular system using Traditional Chinese Medicine. This formula is known in Chinese as "bu yin" which means to provide supplementation to yin. Yin is, at least in this case, considered water or moisture.

Therefore the ingredients in this formula work to quench fire and encourage water balance in the body. This in turn supports normal metabolism and the organs which are involved in this function. There are 16 different herbs included in this formula.

The main ingredients of HY-C include eucommia, ophiopogon, glehnia and dendrobium. However, there are twelve other herbs that also provide support to the body in a beneficial way. They include Mountain root bark, Pueraria root, Alisma rhizome and licorice root. Licorice root is a common ingredient in many Chinese herbal formulas and works as an overall tonic to strengthen, nourish and detoxify the body.
